The Art of Carpet Care
1. SPOT CLEANING --.

Wear protective equipment and place wet floor signs. Remove excess solids from the stain area. Either blot with a clean towel or extract with a machine. For hand spotting - apply chemical and gently agitate toward the center; allow dwell time. Blot up spot - don't rub. For best results, use a tamping brush. Rinse with clean water and blot. For extraction spotting - apply chemical and gently agitate toward the center; allow time to dwell. Rinse extract with clean water.

GOOFS & CONSEQUENCES:

If you use too much chemical.... Then soil will attract back onto the carpet.

If you don't rinse.... Then the spot will come back.

If you use a coloured cloth.... Then the colour will transfer to the carpet.

If you use the wrong products on the carpet.... Then you will permanently damage the fibers.

Vacuum entry or walk-off mats. For best results use a carper groomer to provide agitation. Vacuum hallways, traffic lanes and visible soil. Vacuum under trash cans and furniture. Spot vacuum furniture and upholstery. Vacuum edges and corners. Empty vacuum bag and clean filter. Clean and store vacuum cord and attachments properly.

If you don't change the bag & filters.... Then the vacuum won't pick up the debris.

3. SPIN BONNET CLEANING:

Thoroughly vacuum and remove spots. Mix the cleaning solution and place the wet floor signs. Spray carpet with the bonnet cleaning solution in a pressure sprayer. Spray bonnet or soak bonnet in the cleaner. Overlap your passes flipping, changing or rinsing the bonnet as needed. Allow appropriate dry time before traffic.

GOOFS & CONSEQUENCES:

If you don't use a clean bonnet.... Then you will grind dirt back into the carpet.

If you use the wrong chemical.... Then the carpet will re-soil.

If you over wet the carpet.... Then it will take too long to dry.

4. PRESPRAYING --.

Vacuum area thoroughly and remove spots. Mix prespray in a pressure sprayer and place wet floor signs. Spray carpet with a prespray solution in the pressure sprayer. For best results use a carpet groomer to provide agitation. Allow 5 minutes dwell time before proceeding with cleaning.

GOOFS & CONSEQUENCES:

If you prespray too large an area.... Then the prespray will dry up.

If you don't prespray the carpet.... Then your carpet may not get clean.

If you over mix the chemical.... Then the carpet will attract soil.

5. EXTRACTION --.

Vacuum thoroughly and remove spots. Mix the cleaning solution and place the wet floor signs. After prespraying use the double pass method and overlap your passes. Allow proper dry time before traffic.

GOOFS & CONSEQUENCES:
